Atomic Performance Coaching
Strength Training
Get stronger, move better, and build a body that holds up to everything you ask of it. Expert coaching built around your sport, your goals, and your life.
Almost everything you want, running faster, climbing harder, staying injury-free, feeling capable as you age, is built on a base of strength. It's the difference between breaking down under load and thriving on it. But generic gym programs aren't built for you. They don't know your sport, your history, or the specific things your body needs to do. Our coaching does. We build strength that transfers directly to what you actually do, whether that's a start line, a project, or just keeping up with life without getting hurt. Strength training isn't just for lifters. It's the foundation that makes everything else you do possible, and protects you while you do it.
Why Atomic?
Coaching backed by clinical expertise
Here's what sets Atomic apart from a standard gym or personal trainer: we're a physical therapy practice first. Our coaches are PTs, which means your strength program is built with a deep understanding of how bodies actually work, where they break down, and how to build them up safely. If something flares up, you're already in the right place. That continuity, performance and clinical care under one roof, is something very few gyms can offer.
Why strength training matters
-
It makes you more durable
Stronger muscles, tendons, and bones handle load better. For athletes, that means absorbing the repetitive stress of running, climbing, or training with less breakdown. Strength work is one of the most effective tools we have for reducing injury risk.
-
It makes you more powerful
Strength is the engine behind speed and power. For runners, building strength can improve efficiency and help you hold pace when fatigue sets in. For climbers, it's the force behind every move. Stronger almost always means more capable.
-
It protects you as you age
Starting in your thirties, we begin to lose muscle and bone unless we actively work to maintain them. Resistance training is the most direct way to push back, preserving the strength, bone density, and independence that keep you active for decades.
-
It supports everything else
Better posture, better balance, more confidence under load, faster recovery between hard efforts. Strength is the quiet foundation that makes your running, your climbing, and your daily life feel easier.

Strength training through menopause
One of the most effective things you can do for your body, at exactly the time it matters most.
Menopause brings real physical change. As estrogen declines, the body loses muscle and bone more quickly, which can mean reduced strength, lower bone density, and a higher risk of injury. It's one of the most significant physical transitions a woman goes through, and it's one that too often goes unsupported.
Strength training is one of the most effective responses we have. Resistance training directly targets both muscle and bone, helping protect bone density, maintain lean strength, support metabolism, and keep you powerful and independent through this stage and well beyond it. The research here is clear and consistent: staying strong is one of the best investments you can make in your long-term health.
At Atomic, we coach women through this transition with programs built for where your body actually is, not generic workouts. And because we're a physical therapy practice, your strength coaching can work hand in hand with our dedicated menopause physical therapy, giving you support that's both performance-focused and clinically informed. Few places can offer both under one roof.
If you're navigating menopause and want to feel strong, capable, and confident in your body, we'd love to help.
