Implementing Our 3 Step Approach

In our previous article we outlined our 3 step approach to getting you back to doing what you love! You can check it out here! In order to bring to life how our approach works, we’ve incorporated some real examples at each step in this article.

Step 1:

Find The Real Cause Of Your Pain

Our thorough assessments look at your entire body. We know that pain can be multifactorial and therefore ensure our assessment reflects that. For example, if you are experiencing pain in your knee, we not only assess your knee but also assess your hips, pelvic floor, ankles, feet, low back, and core. We watch how you move and understand your background and day to day activities. This whole picture allows us to truly understand the real cause of your pain and rehab you effectively.

We also educate you on the mechanisms behind your pain to help prevent future occurrences and equip you with the knowledge to understand your body better. At Atomic PT, knowledge is power, and we want to ensure you leave each session with a better understanding of your body.

Step 2:

Fix your problem areas

Now that we know the cause of your pain as well as other deficits related to the pain, we create a thorough rehabilitation program related to your interests. Continuing on with our knee pain example, if your knee pain is impacting your ability to go on weekend hikes with your family, your exercise program will be created to mimic movements related to hiking to strengthen you knee for the activity you love. Every exercise has a purpose and we educate you on the reasoning behind why we choose what we do. We also incorporate exercises to help prevent future issues or compensations related to your pain. Each appointment we adjust the program based on your response and progress as necessary. Every session is different and builds on the previous to ensure you are always making progress.

Step 3:

Stay at Peak Performance

We don’t stop once you are pain-free. Our goal is to get you back to doing what you love and performing better than before. Continuing with our knee pain example, we want you to not only be pain-free on your weekend hikes but also feel fitter and stronger than you’ve ever felt enabling you to hike with your family without worrying about soreness or pain. Improving your overall fitness not only feels good but also reduces your risk of injury. It’s a win win!
